Founding Backend Engineer, 4+ Years

Be our first backend hire: design and ship the Node.js services that move money — NBFC lending, RTA and exchange order flows, KYC, payments and mandates — and set the architecture the team lives with for years.

What you'll work on

Set the architecture and engineering bar: patterns, review standards, and the shape of the backend team hired behind you
Design and ship Node.js services (APIs, jobs, webhooks, queues) where correctness under money movement is the bar
Own partner integrations end-to-end: read the spec, build it, handle retries, idempotency, timeouts and partner downtime
Build reconciliation so every order, instalment and disbursal ties out before a user finds the gap
Run what you build on AWS: CI/CD, deploys, infra changes and on-call, with no separate ops team to hand it to
Own observability so logs, metrics and alerts point at the failing transaction, not just the failing service

Own features end-to-end: read the API contract, wire it up, handle edge cases and failure states, test on real devices, ship
Translate Figma into pixel-honest UI that survives small screens, slow networks and half-loaded data
Own app releases: builds, store submissions, crash and performance triage after ship
Instrument what you build so funnels and drop-offs are visible, then fix what the numbers expose
Set frontend conventions and review the code of engineers who join after you
